How to See a Pediatrician at Our Clinic
In accordance with Alberta Health Care regulations, seeing a specialist requires the right referral path. Here is how booking works:
- New Patients (Consultations): If your child has never been to our clinic or needs an evaluation for a new medical condition, please have your family physician or walk-in doctor fax a referral letter to (780) 756-9676. All referrals are reviewed and prioritized promptly.
- Existing Patients (Sick Visits & Follow-Ups): If your child is already an established patient of Dr. Brar, Dr. Farhan, or Dr. Nasir, you can call us directly at (780) 756-9677 to schedule regular checkups or same-day urgent sick appointments.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a pediatrician at your clinic?
Yes, for new medical consultations and specialized evaluations, Alberta Health regulations require a formal referral from your family doctor, a general practitioner, or a walk-in clinic physician. Please ask your healthcare provider to fax your child’s referral to +1 (780) 756-9676. Once received, our pediatricians triage the referral based on medical urgency and our staff will contact you to book an appointment.
My child is currently sick. Can I book a same-day appointment?
If your child is already an established, registered patient of one of our clinic pediatricians, yes. We reserve daily appointments specifically for urgent illnesses like sudden high fevers, respiratory symptoms, or ear infections. Please phone our desk at +1 (780) 756-9677 starting at 9:00 AM on weekdays to check availability for that day.
Are clinic visits covered by Alberta Health Care (AHCIP)?
Yes. All medically required physician consultations, regular developmental evaluations, and sick kid visits are 100% covered under the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) or reciprocal out-of-province Canadian health coverage. Please be sure to bring your child’s valid Provincial Health Care Card to every visit.
Are there any uninsured services that carry a fee?
While medical examinations are covered by AHCIP, certain administrative requests and non-insured services are not funded by the government. These include completing CRA Child Disability Tax Credit (DTC) forms, specialized school or daycare authorization notes, sick notes for parents’ workplaces, and select travel vaccines. A transparent fee schedule is posted at our front reception.
What should I bring to our first appointment?
To help our pediatricians get the clearest picture of your child’s health, please bring:
- Your child’s valid Alberta Health Care card.
- Their up-to-date immunization record / yellow card.
- Any current medications, puffers, or supplements in their original packaging.
- Any relevant previous hospital discharge papers, developmental assessments, or school report cards.
